A worksheet for children to create their own character, this could be used in KS2 or KS23. The framework could be used in a Literacy lesson or used as an activity in an Art, Graphics or DT lesson. This is an enjoyable task so works really well as a cover sheet. The Keyword on the sheet is Biomimicry which helps to cover some of the DT KS3 National Curriculum. As an extension of this sheet students will often go on to design their characters digitally using design software such as Microsoft Paint, Inkscape or Adobe Illustration depending on ability. Using set times for each part of the design sheet, this worsheet takes at least an hour to complete to a high standard.

This resource is an A3 Tracker which allows you to track the learning and assess pupils as they move through a Carousel system for KS3 DT. I have designed this for use with a 4 subject rotation (Graphics, Food, Textiles and Product Design) - I have included an example of a near completed one that I currently use. I have also included adapted Assessment trackers to work with a 3 subject rotation as this is most common in Schools that use a Carousel system. These trackers can be glued into students books/folders and skills and grades can be highlighted as they move and progress throughout the year. They include areas to highlight where the assessment focus will be, and a place for students to self access their skills. Feel free to adapt and use to best suit your school.

This step by step booklet shows students how to: Remove a background from an image Create a mask Add new layers Blend images together using ‘Blending options’ It is a very enjoyable lesson and helps to build student’s confidence when using Photoshop. All students achieved at least one piece of Art and some went on to produce 2 or 3 within an hour lesson. The booklet can be printed or uploaded onto a VLE for students to work through independently. The task has an A3 sheet with a Robot and students need to cut out the components of the A4 sheet (or you can prepare them before the lesson).
